Meet Dr. Bird
Hello! I’m Dr. Ryan Bird, a Licensed Educational Psychologist with over ten years of experience supporting children, teens, and families through therapy, assessments, and school collaboration. I created my own practice to offer thoughtful, personalized care for young people navigating emotional challenges, learning differences, or simply needing a little more support to thrive.
As a parent, it can be hard to know where to turn when your child is struggling. My goal is to be a calm, clear partner in that process; someone who listens deeply, understands the complexity of childhood and adolescence, and offers practical, evidence-based strategies that support your child’s emotional and academic growth.
Dr. Bird's Background
Dr. Bird began his career as a behavioral therapist at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (C.A.R.D.) and later became a school psychologist in public, charter, and independent school settings. He's developed and led school wide social-emotional learning programs, trained teachers and parents on student mental health, and supported countless students with a wide range of needs. He also teaches graduate-level courses in school psychology, child development, and social-emotional learning, which keeps him abreast of both current research and real-world school systems. He holds an active License in Educational Psychology through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, a doctorate in Educational Leadership from USC, a master’s in School Psychology from ULV, and specialized training and experience in Trauma-Informed Care, Suicide Prevention, Autism Diagnosis, ADHD Intervention, DBT, CBT, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and Collaborative Consultation.
